True Blue Hole 3

Video Tour: #3 at True Blue

One thing that takes prominence at True Blue Golf Club is the amount of water and waste bunkers that guard the holes of this golf course. True to this formula, the par-three 3rd Hole at True Blue is a dramatic 160-yard shot to a peninsula green surrounded by mostly water.

A waste bunker that stars at the front of the green and runs along the right side toward the back acts as an additional hazard. This green, like the 9th at Caledonia, is a narrow one. The most accessible pin will be in the front of the green. Players will be able to utilize slopes to get the ball near the hole.

With that said, club selection here is key. With a front pin placement, you can see how the green slopes away from it and treacherously toward that wraparound bunker; anything landing on that downslope is destined to roll into that bunker. Make sure your tee shot is a high, soft one that carries to the pin.

With a back pin placement, a longer tee shot will be rewarded if it lands near the top of the green’s right-to-left slope, allowing it to feed down to the hole and a great shot at birdie.

Making a three or better on this hole will give you some valuable momentum as you head to the par-five 4th.
