Caledonia Golf Vacations doesn’t just provide access to two of the best golf courses on the Grand Strand – Caledonia and True Blue – but to two of the premier golf facilities in all of South Carolina. Each year, Golfweek publishes its annual list of the “Best Courses You Can Play,” and both Caledonia and True Blue crack South Carolina’s top 10 for 2019.
Coming in at #5 on this list and #60 in Golfweek’s top 100 you can play nationwide, Caledonia’s modern design features and Lowcountry backdrop are sure to take your breath away. Designed by the late, great Mike Strantz, Caledonia offers the ultimate combination of design creativity, with large, undulating greens, strategic bunkering and many of the Lowcountry’s native elements such as marshy areas, towering live oaks and flowers in full bloom.
Oaks and flowers set the perfect backdrop for #14, a lengthy par 4 that challenges players to hit it over a water hazard to the left to gain a better angle into the green from the fairway. Caledonia is a must-play for locals, first-timers and returning visitors alike because of its commitment to be the best.
Strantz outdid himself with True Blue, the #6 ranked course on the 2019 “Best” list. Effortlessly combining links-style with the Carolina Lowcountry, the natural beauty of True Blue is obvious. The layout is as fun as any there is, and the greens are some of the most pristine you will find in the area.
The par-3 3rd requires an intimidating forced carry to a long, narrow green with a surrounding bunker that runs off into water on all sides. No doubt, True Blue is a step above.
Be sure to check out the best, Caledonia and True Blue, on your next Myrtle Beach golf vacation with Caledonia Golf Vacations!
