Holes #2, 3, 4 provide daunting, creative start to your round
True Blue Golf Club is considered by many locals and returning visitors to be the best golf course on the entire Grand Strand, and for very good reason. Simply put, the course is a masterpiece, designed by the late, great Mike Strantz and combining a links-style feel with the Carolina Lowcountry in truly unforgettable fashion. The natural beauty is evident everywhere you turn. The layout is brilliantly playable. Truly, True Blue is a step above.
For Head Professional Bart Romano, one stretch at True Blue is particularly remarkable.
“My personal favorite three-hole stretch is #2, 3, 4,” says Romano. “This stretch gives us a par 4, a par 3 and a par 5 – all with great risk-reward opportunities.”
True Blue #3The par-4 2nd is a short hole measuring just over 350 yards from the back tees, giving players the option to go for the green or leave themselves a short iron in from an attacking position.
The par-3 3rd requires an intimidating forced carry to a long, narrow green with a surrounding bunker that runs off into water on all sides.
“The third hole features our hour glass-shaped island green, making club selection crucial,” says Romano.
The par-5 4th is a “horseshoe hole” with water running down the entirety of the fairway’s left side. A drive down the left gives you an option to go for the green in two, or play it as a three-shot hole with a True Blue #4lay-up out to the right. But be careful! The approach is guarded by water.
Players and industry experts continue to give True Blue high acclaim because it provides a remarkable golf experience unlike any other. Want to experience all True Blue has to offer for yourself?
