You’ve had a full day of awesome golf, and just filled your belly at one of the dozens of great Lowcountry restaurants in Pawleys Island. Now it’s time to let your hair down even more with a few evening drafts or cocktails, maybe with some live music in the background as you swap stories of the day’s birdies and bogeys, and all the fun moments in between.
But where do you go to experience the Pawleys Island nighttime scene? Here are our three consensus picks that have each built their own cult following – both from among visiting golfers, and from local residents who’ve made them a regular part of their social scene.
Island Bar & Grill – Located in the Village Shops in the heart of Pawleys Island, this place doesn’t have a long history (it opened in 2007), but in just over a decade has firmly established itself as a go-to destination for evening cocktails & revelry. Monday night karaoke and Tuesday’s live music with The Fourclosures are mainstays throughout the summer, while a heavy assortment of other live bands dot their events calendar through the spring and fall golf seasons.
Quigley’s Pint & Plate – The in-house brews are tasty, creative and always on tap at Quigley’s, with eight craft brews available on any given night including their Longboard Lager, Shakedown Wheat, Swamp Fox IPA or Nut Brown Ale. Enjoy live team trivia from 8-10 p.m. on Tuesdays, and Thursday night karaoke from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Pawleys Island Tavern – How can you not love any place that proudly bills itself as “Classically Shabby”? Live music every weekend evening, showcased on two small stages, keeps the fun times rolling well into the late hours. If you really want to cut loose in the Lowcountry, “The PIT” is it!
