Caledonia, True Blue Make “Golfweek’s Top 200 Resort Courses in U.S.” for 2022

Each year, Golfweek posts its “Top 200 Resort Courses in the U.S.” list – with the Grand Strand being home to a handful of this ranking of the nation’s elite public access golf courses. To the surprise of no one and the joy of many when the latest list was released at the beginning of this year, Golfweek once more included Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club among its honorees.

Caledonia joins Golfweek’s 2022 list at No.45, just two spots behind Myrtle Beach’s renowned Robert Trent Jones design at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club and one slot ahead of its famed Carolinas neighbor at Pine Needles. True Blue came in tied for 77th in the country alongside critically acclaimed tracks like The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Wolf Creek in Mesquite, Nevada and Turning Stone Resort’s Atunyote course in upstate New York – and just ahead of Boyne’s Bay Harbor Golf Club and Pinehurst No. 8.

Both Caledonia and True Blue continue to represent the best in Lowcountry golf as the South Strand’s most popular choices among vacation golfers. They’ve also been home to multiple elite collegiate competitions, including the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge.

The members of Golfweek’s course ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them based on 10 criteria, while also filing a single, overall rating on each course. Overall ratings on each course are then averaged to produce a final, cumulative rating, with each course ranked against other courses in their respective regions.

Caledonia and True Blue were two of three Grand Strand designs to make it into the top 50. Book these golf courses on your next trip here, and be sure to check out Golfweek’s full list here!
